Can I freely use content I found online?

Today, the use of internet and other platforms is necessary to communicate. However, before using and/or reproducing any content that, may seem free, you should stop and think of this:

– Almost every time, the person responsible for uploading said material is the one that has exclusive rights. And it will be this person the one who can authorize you to use the content of the work and the conditions to do it.

– When are you authorized to use the work without authorization? Some cases are:

– If the piece belongs to an already published work.

– If the use is to perform an analysis, comment or judgement.

– If the reproduction is for teaching or research purposes.

These are the cases in which you mention the source and you name the author.

– Be sure that your source is reliable. Currently the content online goes beyond borders and the truth in what we read, can be truly doubtful.
